Call for Applications: The 20th Young Scientist Award of the Physical Society of Japan (Division 12)
We are pleased to announce the call for applications for the Young Scientist Award of the Physical Society of Japan (Division 12).
This award was established to encourage young researchers and invigorate the Society.

We urge numerous self-nominations and recommendations to recognize and stimulate young researchers who support Division 12.
The review of candidates for the award will be conducted on a division-by-division basis.
The maximum number of recipients for Division 12 is three.
Please ensure to refer to the award regulations and detailed rules for Division 12 before applying.

[Eligibility Criteria]
1)The candidate must be a member of the Physical Society of Japan and be 40 or under 40 years of age as of April 1, 2026
(The age limit can be relaxed in cases of research interruption due to maternity, childcare or nursing care.)
2)The research (or part of it) for which the award is sought must have been presented or published as the first author in the relevant division of the Physical Society of Japan within approximately the past five years.
3)Previous recipients of this award are not eligible for re-nomination. Self-nomination in multiple divisions within the same year is not allowed. However, if nominated by others in multiple divisions, separate evaluations will be conducted for each division.

(2) Curriculum Vitae (including date of birth in Gregorian calendar and age as of April 1 of the award year)
(3) List of published papers (including those accepted for publication)
(4) Copies of up to three relevant papers (published within the past eight years)
(5) List of presentations at the relevant division of the Physical Society of Japan (must be the first author; specify spring or autumn of the presentation year)
(6) Copies of abstracts of presentations at the relevant division of the Physical Society of Japan (must be the first author; specify spring or autumn of the presentation year; within the past five years)
(7) Self-nomination letter or recommendation letter (up to 1000 words)
(8) Other supporting documents (optional). The total number of papers submitted under items (4) and (8) combined must not exceed three.
